Director of Elementary Learning & After-school Programs (K–5)
Whitney Brown, M.Ed. serves as Director of Elementary Learning & After-school Programs (K–5) for The Elimu Initiative, where she leads culturally affirming, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that nurture identity, academic foundations, and joy for young learners. In this role, she oversees curriculum, enrichment, and afterschool programming designed to support whole-child development and meaningful family engagement.
A veteran educator and instructional leader with more than 13 years of classroom and leadership experience, Whitney has dedicated her career to advancing student achievement, teacher development, and positive school culture. Her work spans instruction, mentorship, curriculum design, and culture and climate leadership, with a deep commitment to educational equity and purpose-driven learning environments.
Whitney is also the Founder and Program Developer of Teacher Impact Pathways, where she supports educators through coaching, professional learning, and leadership development. Her work focuses on strengthening instructional practice, supporting educators’ growth, and fostering sustainable change in schools and community-based learning spaces.
Deeply aligned with The Elimu Initiative’s mission, Whitney believes that transformative education begins with well-supported teachers and culturally responsive learning environments. She is passionate about nurturing students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, and about building partnerships that empower families and communities.
