The Meaning Behind Our Symbol
We use the Adinkra symbol Nea Onnim (Neh-ah OHN-neem), which means “one who does not know can learn.” This symbol comes from the Akan people of Ghana and represents lifelong learning, curiosity, and the belief that everyone can grow through education.
Its message aligns perfectly with the Swahili word Elimu (Eh-LEE-moo)— education, knowledge, and the process of learning. Together, Elimu and Nea Onnim reflect our mission to create culturally grounded, faith-informed learning experiences that honor our African heritage and empower every learner.
